Job Overview
Warehouse order pickers are responsible for selecting and preparing the correct items for customer orders from shelves, racks, or storage areas. Key Responsibilities
Pick, scan, and prepare merchandise according to order sheets or electronic picking systems
Organize picked items in designated bins, cartons, or pallets for shipping
Confirm product codes, quantities, and condition to ensure correct orders are fulfilled
Use manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts (if certified) to move stock around the warehouse
Participate in cycle counts and routine stock checks
Label and tag items with accuracy to maintain clear inventory records
Help unload inbound shipments and restock inventory areas when needed
Report damaged items or discrepancies to supervisors promptly
Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned zones
Comply with all workplace health and safety regulations and company protocols
Required Experience and Skills
At least 6–12 months of experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or fulfillment environment is preferred
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks throughout a shift
Familiarity with handheld barcode scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS)
Basic math skills to calculate order quantities and verify shipments
Excellent time management and organizational abilities
Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently or in a team
Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends based on business demand
Qualifications and Certifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Forklift certification is a plus but not required (on-site training may be provided)
